PRIVACY FOR FAMILIES

What we keep, and what we never do with it.

This is written to be read, not to protect us. If anything here is unclear, that is our fault and we want to know. Email keenan@flexsolutions.ph.

What we store about your child

Three things, and nothing else:

  • Their first name, or whatever you choose to call them here.
  • Their birthday, so we know which version of the screen to give them.
  • What they answer, and how long they spent.

You can also tell us what grade they are in. That one is optional, we do not use it to decide anything, and skipping it only means you do not see the grade comparison.

No last name is required. No address, no photo, no phone number. Your child never has an email address or a password here, because they never get their own account. They have a four-digit code inside yours, and we store that scrambled so nobody can read it back, including us.

What we store about you

Your email address, when you gave permission, and how you signed in. That is the whole list. There is no password, because we never ask for one.

The one thing you cannot see

When your child writes an explanation in their own words, you can see which ideas they got and which they missed, and whether it passed. You cannot read the sentences themselves. Nor can anyone else, apart from one named person here.

We know that sounds odd on a product built for parents, so here is the honest reason. Two, actually.

A child who knows a parent reads every word starts writing for the parent. The explanation stops being them working something out and becomes a performance, and the whole point of asking is to find out what they actually think.

And occasionally a child types something into a box like that which is not about maths at all. If a child is being hurt, the person they are describing must not be the first person to read it. Making that depend on our software spotting it would not be good enough, because a child in that position rarely says it plainly. So the words go nowhere near anyone but one named adult, always, for every child.

If your child writes something that worries us, a person here reads it, and we may contact you. We say may rather than will because that decision needs a person looking at what was actually written.

Who else touches it

Four companies, and what each one holds is on the Who we use page. Three of them are how the site runs at all: the database, the hosting, and the service that emails you a sign-in code. You cannot opt out of those and still have a working site, so we tell you rather than ask you.

The fourth is different. When your child is old enough to write explanations in words, an AI service can check their reasoning. That one we ask you about separately, once, when it first matters, and only the words your child typed are sent. Never their name, never their birthday. It may be processed outside the Philippines. It is never used to train AI. If you say no, everything still works, your child just taps their reasoning instead of typing it, and we never ask you again.

What we never do

  • No advertising, and no ad networks. There is nothing on this site sold to anyone.
  • We never sell or share your family’s data with anyone not on that list.
  • No marketing email. The only email we send is a sign-in code or something about your account.
  • We never show your child how they compare to another child.
  • Nobody but you sees your child’s name or results. You cannot see anyone else’s either.

Deleting it

One button, in your account, any time. It removes your child’s profile and everything tied to it: every answer, every explanation, their progress, all of it. It does not go to a bin we can recover it from.

You can also ask us for a copy of everything we hold, or ask us to correct it. Email the address at the top and a person will do it.

Children and the law

This site is for children, so the rules are stricter and that is right. A parent or guardian creates the account and gives permission before a child answers a single question. Nothing about a child exists here before that happens, and the database itself refuses to hold it, not just the website.

We are based in the Philippines and we have children here and in the United States, so both the Data Privacy Act and COPPA apply to us. We collect the least we can rather than the most we are allowed.

This is a small operation, and that cuts both ways.

It means one person you can actually reach, who knows every family using this. It also means we are new, and this page will change as the site grows. When it changes in a way that matters, we will tell you rather than quietly updating a date at the bottom.
